This was a submission for the AIGA Atlanta "Mantra" Poster Competition. The idea was to create a poster based on your favorite word or phrase. I chose the phrase, 'Old Soul", which is a phrase I heard often from people describing myself. I've always had a love-hate connection with it, but over time the phrase has not only grown on me, but also started to make lots of sense in connection to my own personality.
In order to show the complexity of this idea, I wanted to portray the show the soul visually as a very ancient and old object or symbol, which is why I chose to represent the soul as a tree.
